Darrowby's Summitt of a Surprise
Summitt is a gorgeous English cream Golden.
She has an interesting history-Summitt seemed destined to
remain a Darrowby dog. It is a family trait-her mother, now retired to a life of
luxury, came to us from Canada as a surprise from Elaine Brent of One Ash
kennel. Her sire, Int Ch Hypagardens Delicious Coconut, came to us from a
fabulous family based show kennel in Hogsby Sweden, the home of the author of
Pippi Longstocking.

Summitt was initially going to live with different owners, but things changed
with her original destination and she is home at Darrowby, challenging the
damselflies and trying to catch all of our frogs. She was an engaging, gorgeous, puppy
with eyes as dark as her coat is light, and not
much has changed in 2 years although she is now OFA good, with normal elbows, a
CERF and cardiac clearance. She loves to play and run in our meadows next
to Dragonfly Pond. She also loves to swim in the pond. She is enthusiastic about
her play, but is also a sweet and loving girl. Her coat is a lush, gorgeous
correct Golden coat. Her jet black pigment accentuates her heritage. She
combines beautiful English bloodlines with the wonderful Swedish background
of our own Int Ch Hypagarden's Delicious Coconut. These are her parents:

Check our girl. The photos below were one year old pictures. We will update soon with our more mature girl who has done nothing but get prettier as she as came of age. Summitt has asked for a trip to Canada to strut her stuff in the show ring in the fall of 2012. We will let her take time for maternal duties first so we can play with her puppies in the meadow this spring. She will team with Buzz to produce our Dragonfly litter! These will be killer pups if they have any of the intensity of their mother and her gorgeous eyes. Check those pretty proper sized ears! Structurally, she has lovely tight round feet, nice bone, an elegant correct topline, a cobby body, correct angles and nice depth of chest. Summitt has proper tailset, a nice turn of stifle with correct length hocks and no excess length of loin-no freight train here!
Check her very engaging expression, piercing eyes with total
eye contact bring attention to a sculptured head with a good stop and the
breadth of back skull not seen in many Golden Retrievers today. Her muzzle is
square without excessive flews and she is definitely feminine. Those ears so
many people at shows are always trying to get their dogs to hold up (with
literally tons of liver used as bait each year at shows throughout the country)
are perpetually up as Summit is one of the sweetest and consistently happiest
dogs we know. Her curious and gentle nature personify the correct
temperament for a Golden retriever. She is a great addition to our mountaintop
crew and brings a gentle nature with an eager to please, fun loving attitude
that is perfect for future generations of Darrowby Goldens.
