Litter plans for 2012

ENGLISH GOLDEN RETRIEVER PUPPIES PLANNED!!!

Check Planned Liaisons for the 2012 plans at Darrowby!

2011

This is the litter born the day of the earthquake. Shake, rattle and roll is the litter theme. Here are a few of the aftershocks that were born at Darrowby!

We promise socialization, but this litter has had an earthquake, Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee-we won't be doing that range of experience for future litters if we can avoid it! Don't get attached to any of these-like most of our pups, they were sold to super homes, and reserved long before they were born. These are very self confident pups. They aren't quite five weeks old, and range from seven and a half to eight and a half pounds of solid puppies!  They are not shy at the breakfast, lunch, tea or dinner table..

They are fearless explorers. The temperature is staying in the 70s during the day, so they get to go outside in their covered play area to amuse us with their discoveries of the world for a few supervised hours each day! Our pups only play outside at this age with adult supervision. We don't get a lot done around here, but they get even more socialization.

We have a litter due in November. These will be mellow pups with tons of bone, coat, pigment and great temperaments! Ask us for details.  This litter features an imported sire and and on the dam's side, an English and Australian granddam and a Swedish imported grandsire.

Plans for the rest of 2011

This year we plan 3 litters.  We are hoping to spend a good part of the summer training dogs, painting all of our outbuildings, landscaping around the pond and backyard (10 acres is a lot to landscape!)  Busy year! We plan one fall litter for 2011 litters.

A second Vanna litter will probably be plannned during 2012.

2010
We waited until the last minute for our 2010 litters.

Darrowby's Hurricane Havannah  welcomed Dusty to the US. She has 6 fat puppies born Christmas eve. This is our fabulous Snowstorm litter. This is Vannah

and here is the Snowstorm litter (12/24/2010). Here are three of our Christmas eve presents from Vannah. Ask about availability.
  Darrowby's Morning Storm Warning(Regis!)                            Darrowby's Blizzard Wizard

Darrowby's Let it Snow Flo

Flurry (below) is staying at Darrowby.

These pups have some of the most incredible English heads we have ever seen, and also some of the most gorgeous expressions. Dusty produced bone, coat and head galore-all things Vannah already has to spare. 4 are cream and 2 have quite a bit of colour. They are 3/4 Swedish and 1/4 Australian. We are having such fun with them-they are delightful characters.  The Wiz is a super snuggler, Storm Warning is adventurous, curious and very interactive, Flurry is ours, and Flo melts you with her eyes.

and to show the family tree, this is Vanna's brother Buzz

2010

Posy and Dusty provided us with 7 girls and three boys on 12/11/2010. They are gorgeous and we enjoyed watching them grow and then the bittersweet transition as they made their new families happy. They are all placed at this time.  They experienced playtime, new toys, new noises, loads of attention and all the required socialization to assure they would do superbly in their new homes. This was an  incredibly even litter. Five of the seven girls looked like total clones. All have dark pigment, thick coats, and are sweet, curious and delightful pups. All but one watched the Super Bowl in their  new homes. Here is an example of the pups from the litter:

Darrowby's Sunnylaine H.M.S.Victory-showing off his prowess!

HMS Badger, aka Hudson, was the guest of honor at a puppy shower.
Since Hudson is as spoiled as all Darrowby puppies, his owners requested that the shower be a benefit for their local shelter. He is shown here amidst some of the donations for the shelter. I understand that the shower attendees didn't stop here, but helped the shelter meet a portion of their fund drive as well. Top that off with a shower venue decorated in pawprints, puppy shaped cookies and untold other golden decorations! Hudson did get some personal items, but the shelter was the beneficiary. We have WONDERFUL homes for our puppies!!!!
