We are still deciding how much we can handle in 2007. Oolala has had 2 puppies, Lieulieu had a litter in 2005, and Bracken and Knickers have never had puppies. We will decide which to breed, as 2 or 3litters a year is usually our maximum. These are all super girls, and we have received lots of interest in their pups. Watch for details, and ask if you are interested in these litters.
Our December 2006 litter was a litter of twelve delightful puppies. We look forward to summer puppies and time out in the pond and meadow with babies. We have several reservations on upcoming pups, but should still have some puppies early fall puppies available for select homes.
.
Our litter in 2005, born January 25, was born in a Blizzard. It is a litter of
mostly creams-Troubadour and LieuLieu were the proud parents. Check the new crew:

amd check mom below with her FAVORITE well worn toy
--since it lost an eye, we have asked Lieu if she is her dog's Seeing Eye Golden.

Here was "expectant " Lieu, begging for goodies, and from the top

The parents are Darrowby's Go Where I Send Thee and One Ash Darrowby Talking Head. Lieu Lieu has a wonderful pedigree with some excellent English dogs both recent and from the past. Troub has Irish, English, Australian and a tad of US breeding behind him. Look at the angles, shoulders and front assemblies on these two. We had reservations before this litter was even bred. Check the parents and pedigree! LieuLieu lost any hint of her maidenly form, and was quite football shaped. before delivery. Now she is concentrating on being a wonderful mother.

and licking her chops..

While we said mostly creams, we remembered that Excel is behind Troubadour.

We had a surprise in colour in this litter. Check the middle puppy, who is number 3 girl above. It is a lovely square head, but the cream is more of a cafeaulait! LieuLieu, in early January, was HUGE. She waddled up and down stairs, and needed out 6-7 times a night by the time she delivered. Lieu carried a toy in her mouth all the time, preparing for the real thing. We are constantly pulling a waterlogged swan or monkey out of the bedroom water bucket, as she has found it difficult to drink while holding a treasure.
Watch for more pictures nearly daily--we are dangerous with the digital, especially when confined to quarters due to a lack of degrees outside.
A spring litter will be Oolala (Ainsleygold Darrowby Uluru) bred to Iggy (One Ash Darrowby Mind Reader.). Oolala was our solid rock puppy, named for the Ayres rock. Her parents were here on a sabbatical from Australia while their owners worked at the U.N. for a short time. She is a lovely girl, and promises to produce a delightful combination of Australian and English puppies. Check the pedigree of this litter. We are taking reservations on this litter. Here are Oolala and Iggy as babies:

and now...

Iggy
This is Oolala's first litter, but here is a typical Iggy pup:

We have to remember that Oolala's father was a very deep gold,
so we may once again have a surprise or two in this litter with colour of the pups. These
are the grandparents from Australia...

We are planning a litter with Knickers (Goldbyrne
Knickerbocker), imported from Australia for late spring 2007. She will be bred to our Canadian Champion Darrowby R-Sierra High Flier. These should be
delightful, brainy and beautiful Goldens with classic chiseled heads, lots of bone, but
still quite athletic. Knickers lovers to stand on top of her doghouse to survey the foxes
in the woods outside our fenced compound. She pops up there from a standstill and is our
real life weathervane. This is Knicky. Check the
pedigree here. We have several reservations on this very special litter of
the old time blocky headed , very cobby bodied Goldens, with such superb temperaments. We
will be keeping the pick girl here at Darrowby.

Coming in winter of 2006/2007.

Normally we have 2-3 litters a year. We have seven litters in the past four years-we
had to hold off in 2000 to heal from a car wreck . We had a litter in January and December
2001,one Corgi and two Golden litters in 2002, and another two Golden litters in
2003. We now have a lovely kennel of show girls with superb pedigrees. Our
waiting list has exploded. With loads of help, and this as our major activity, we will be
trying for four litters in 2006-2007. This isn't a lot for many breeders, but the time and
effort we put into this make it a very big effort for us.
Cammie had a litter in July of
2004--she had one lovely baby who is living with a family who adore him.

We repeated the Mille Cessna litter
which gave us such gorgeous puppies in the summer of 2004! This was a linebreeding on our
old Tahn that we lost this year. Check out this very special "Tribute" litter. Our lovely Uruguay
and Argentine Champion Mille, a Tahn daughter is now a beautiful four year old OFA
excellent, eye and cardiac cleared adult. The puppies are all in wonderful
homes-three girls and two boys. Remember Mille?

A shot from a Pedigree Championship show where
Mille took the breed over specials! Way to go, Wiggle Butt!!!!

NZ Ch Fantango GunsNRoses-"TAHN"
imp Aust. OFA excellent, CERF and cardiac clear
This was taken of Tahn in August of 2002. Talk about quality that lasts!
Mille and Tahn gave us our Special litter.

Remington (Darrowby's Sat Nite Special) took points his first weekend in the ring.

He is continuing to grow into a lovely showdog.

Watch for him to add to his conformation points this spring.

Here is our Pronto (Darrowby's Special Delivery) showing off his incredible athletic ability. He is undergoing his serious obedience training now, and loving every minute of it.
Bloomers and Iggy formed an alliance (summer 2004) with a
pedigree that reads like a British Isles tour--we had puppies with lovely English
type with a range of midgold to cream, and very sculpted heads from this litter. This
litter will be repeated in the Fall of 2006. Our special rose from this litter, Darrowby's
Wild Irish Rose, is keeping a junior handler and her mom hopping in the Midwest. She
is on a co-ownership and enters the showring this spring. Henry Hudson is another Rose
from that litter who sharied his new owner with a special 16 year old rescue Golden,
and has helped her move that very special and extremely lucky rescue over the rainbow
bridge.
