The Darrowby Corgi kennel started when Sallie bought four dogs on co-ownerships. We were lucky enough to obtain a wonderful New Zealand Champion as well as two puppies that have turned out to be lovely show dogs and producers. Our first litter was born at the home of our former associate, and most of those puppies, including the first Darrowby Champion,  came to New York in December of 2000.

Darrowby has 35 years experience in the Golden ring. Our Golden kennel is going strong-we had an interest in a small foray into another breed. Since Sallie's mother had owned a Corgi in the 'forties, and literature showed that NZ Corgis had lovely pedigrees to offer, we developed our contacts and started this venture with a breed we admired a great deal. We have quickly become serious fanciers of the breed, and hope to make a contribution as breeders in this area by following the same strict adherence to quality and selective breeding in this breed as we have done on Goldens.

We own three Champion Pembroke Welsh Corgis to date, and have co-owned two others-not a shabby start!

Here is the lovely dog that Diane Dickinson shared with us as our first Corgi - IntAmCanNZArgentineCh Dwynella Look My Way CGC,TDI-imp NZ,OFA good,CERF and cardiac clear, vWD clear. Marty won 27 CCs in New Zealand, and quickly finished his American and Canadian titles with some very nice specialty and group winning.

Above is a picture of Marty, and here is one of his Champion,Best Puppy in Show sons in New Zealand. This Dwynella fella is shown at six months!

We plan to assure that every precaution is taken with elimination of known problems to the extent possible. We will place well socialized, healthy puppies that have had all recommended testing as well as all routine veterinary work. Homes will be selected for their ability to care for these dogs in a top quality manner. Show homes will always have these puppies as household members as well as kennel members-none of our puppies will be relegated to a purely kennel existence, nor will they be placed where numbers preclude individual attention and love.

Marty  is now trying his paws at obedience and agility. We may take a try at herding in the future as well-he is great at herding the Goldens!
